Who we are

This website is operated by The Cheshire Landscaping & Decking Co. ("we", "us"), a landscaping and decking business based in Cheshire, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. What we collect and why

When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect the details you choose to give us: your name, phone number, email address, the type of project you're interested in, your message, your preferred contact method, and any photographs of your garden you attach. We use this information for one purpose — to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quotation and, if you go ahead, deliver your project. Our legal basis for this is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running our business and responding to the people who contact us.

If you contact us directly by phone, WhatsApp or email, we hold that correspondence for the same purpose.

Who your information is shared with

We never sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing. Like most websites, we rely on a small number of service providers to make things work:

• FormSubmit — delivers your enquiry (including any photos) from the website to our email inbox.
• Vercel — hosts this website and, like any web host, keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and performance.
• Google Fonts — supplies the typefaces this site uses; your browser requests them from Google's servers, which involves your IP address.

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes, except as described in their own privacy policies.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and, where a project goes ahead, for our normal business and accounting records. If you'd like your enquiry deleted, just ask.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email andy@thecheshirelandscapinganddeckingco.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to sort any concern out first.
